Division Format and Costs

U3 and U4

Division Format

A season consists of eight, 60-minute total time practices, which includes a non-competitive scrimmage.

Quick Reference

Format: 3 v 3, no goalie
Playtime: Following practice, a 20-minute scrimmage consisting of 5-minute quarters.
Breaks / Substitutions: Breaks as needed with substitutions made at breaks.

Training
  • U3 players are not allowed to play up a division.
  • An accredited program will be run by parent coaches that will focus on fun games and exercises.
  • All scrimmages are held at the Rockey Weed Soccer Complex.
  • Training sessions will most likely be on a weekday evening and/or on Saturday mornings over the course of a season.

  • $50 for Early Registration
  • $65 for Regular Registration

Division Format

This division adheres to the rules/format of the Michigan State Youth Soccer Association (MSYSA) and the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) for all aspects of play and field/goal size.

  • A season consists of eight, 40-minute training sessions followed by a non-competitive game. This means no score is kept for the game.
  • A game will consist of four, 8-minute quarters.
  • Game format is 4 v 4 with no goalkeepers.

Training

  • An accredited program will be run by parent coaches that will focus on fun games and exercises.
  • At their discretion, Coaches may add additional practice sessions before the season begins.
  • All training sessions/games are held at the Rockey Weed Soccer Complex.
  • Training sessions/games will most likely be on a weekday evening and/or on a Saturday morning, over the course of a season.
  • Players are allowed to play up to the next division (ie, age-appropriate U6 is allowed to play up to U7, but not U8). The player should be in the top 10% players in their respective division before playing up and must be in the upper 33% of the division they are requesting to move to. Coach’s recommendations are always helpful.

  • Each player is provided a jersey and participation medal for each player.
  • Players are required to provide their own shin guards, black shorts or pants, and soccer socks.
  • Soccer cleats are highly recommended but are not required.

  • This division will play away games against other clubs (Berrien Springs, Bridgman, Coloma, Saint Joseph, South Haven, and so on). Games will most likely be on a weekday evening and/or on a Saturday morning over the course of a season.
  • Teams in this division are equalized with a non-cut draft. For details on the Team Equalization process, please click here.
  • A season consists of approximately ten games, plus additional practices.
  • A game will consist of two, 25-minute halves with a USSF sanctioned referee at every home game.
  • Game format is 7 v 7 with goalkeepers.

Training

  • An accredited program will be run by parent coaches that will focus on fun games and exercises.
  • At their discretion, Coaches typically schedules practices prior to and throughout the season.
  • All training sessions/practices are held at the Rockey Weed Soccer Complex.
  • Training sessions/games will most likely be on a weekday evening and/or on a Saturday morning.
  • Players are allowed to play up to the next division (ie, age-appropriate U10 is allowed to play up to U12, but not U14). ~ It is acceptable to play up to U15 as long as you are in 8th grade (freshman are not allowed. Maximum allowed team size is 22, game day maximum roster is 18
