Registration Timeline by Season
Please note: Dates for the registration period are approximate.
Spring Season
Registration for the Spring season is open late January through early March.
Fall Season
Registration for the Fall season is open mid-June through early August.
Determining Age Group / Division
A child’s birthyear determines their age group (“division”). The chart below can be used to determine which division your child is eligible to play in.

* U3 Division
The U3 division is only available in Spring and is for players whose 3rd birthday falls between January 1 and May 1 of the spring season they are registering for. For example, registration for spring 2019 would meaning players need to be at least 3 years old by May 1, 2016.

Division Format
A season consists of eight, 60-minute total time practices, which includes a non-competitive scrimmage.

- Players are allowed to play up to the next division (ie, age-appropriate U6 is allowed to play up to U7, but not U8). The player should be in the top 10% players in their respective division before playing up and must be in the upper 33% of the division they are requesting to move to. Coach’s recommendations are always helpful.

- A season consists of approximately ten games, plus additional practices.
- A game will consist of two, 25-minute halves with a USSF sanctioned referee at every home game.
- Game format is 7 v 7 with goalkeepers.
Training
- An accredited program will be run by parent coaches that will focus on fun games and exercises.
- At their discretion, Coaches typically schedules practices prior to and throughout the season.
- All training sessions/practices are held at the Rockey Weed Soccer Complex.
- Training sessions/games will most likely be on a weekday evening and/or on a Saturday morning.
- Players are allowed to play up to the next division (ie, age-appropriate U10 is allowed to play up to U12, but not U14). ~ It is acceptable to play up to U15 as long as you are in 8th grade (freshman are not allowed. Maximum allowed team size is 22, game day maximum roster is 18

Registration Surcharges
Late Registration
A late fee of $15 will be automatically applied to any registration submitted after the Regular Registration period has ended.
Township Surcharge
A surcharge of $5 will be automatically applied for non-residents of Lincoln Charter Township.
Volunteer Opt-Out
SWM Rec is made possible by its dedicated volunteers. Volunteerism is vital to provide the best possible experience for players and parents. As such, all parents are required to volunteer in some capacity for each season their child participates. Parents in the U3 division are exempt from volunteering requirements.
Parents may choose not to volunteer and may opt-out during the registration process. A $40 opt-out fee will be assessed for parents who choose not to volunteer.
Registration Policies
Specifying a specific team or a coach is generally not allowed except for the following reasons:
- Volunteering to be a Coach or Assistant Coach.
A child will always play on the team that their parent coaches. Please note that U4 and U5 divisions do not use Assistant Coaches
