Parking

If you are not familiar with our facility, we have two lots: one accessible off Rockey Weed and one lot accessible off Cleveland Avenue.
Handicapped Parking areas are noted with Handicap Parking signs. Patrons can park in those areas as long as they have a government-issued, current, handicap parking mirror placard. If you have been to the facility recently, you may have noticed handicap parking signs posted in the grass area, along with the north end fields A through F.
To accommodate those patrons with handicap parking needs, we have also designated this grass area and the fields as an additional handicap parking zone. Patrons with approved handicap placards are welcome to park in the grass area, along with fields A through F.
Patrons are welcome to access the grassed, handicapped parking area through the SW Corner of the Cleveland Avenue Parking lot. Parking in the grassed, handicapped parking area is strictly relegated to the along with fields, A through F, and not beyond. Additionally, only one row of grassed, handicapped parking is allowed.
If for any reason, the ground is saturated with water, we kindly ask you to keep all parking in the gravel areas (handicap parking included). Parking violators will be removed at their own expense.
Entering and Exiting Fields
When entering and exiting the soccer areas, please walk around the field perimeter as opposed to walking across the field. Doing so will minimize the risk of injury to a player or a spectator.
Sideline Awareness
These policies are meant to prevent player distraction and to contact from an errant soccer ball.
- Spectators should sit on the side of the field opposite from the players.
- Spectators are encouraged to sit at least 9 feet away from the sidelines.
- Spectators should not to sit or stand near the goalboxes.
Inclement Weather
The Lakeshore Youth Soccer Complex is an outdoor facility, which means inclement weather is always a possibility. SWM Rec does not generally close the complex for heat, cold, wind, rain, or snow.
In the event of severe weather that may impact an entire day and jeopardize the safety of attendees, the league reserves the right to cancel all games and close the soccer complex. In this instance, parents and Coaches are notified via e-mail, Facebook, and the SWM Rec website.
All play will be stopped if lightning is spotted. Play cannot resume until 30 minutes after the last visible lightning strike.
Heat and Humidity Policy
Weather can fluctuate between extremes of cold and hot. In the case of elevated heat and humidity levels, we follow the guidelines set forth by our governing body, Michigan State Youth Soccer Association, and the Michigan High School Athletic Association.
