Determining Your Child’s Division
A child’s birth year determines their age group (“division”). The chart below can be used to determine which division your child is eligible to play in. Note that the soccer season, according to MSYSA guidelines, runs from Fall to Spring. In other words, the Fall session is a start of a new season. The Spring session is a continuation of the same season that began in Fall.
When looking at the grid below, identify the current year on the x-axis, then scroll to the right to find the associated birth year of your child. Once you’ve pinpointed the year and birth year, scroll to the header row (in red) to find the assigned age bracket for the age group your kiddo will be competing in.
